Baseball Recap: Big Lake Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Big Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brendan Goedker made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Goedker was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Goedker wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Martin, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Another was Conner Lundquist, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Big Lake now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chisago Lakes Area, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
