Baseball Recap: Midland Valley Takes a Loss

Midland Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gilbert Indians. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 5-3 to the Indians when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Midland Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Johnson has become a key player for Midland Valley: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 0-7-1 otherwise.

Midland Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Gilbert, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

While Midland Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
