It was a good run, but California unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the San Ramon Valley Wolves by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

California saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Giffins, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Another was Angelo Sherman, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

California's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for San Ramon Valley, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-10.

While California had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
