Baseball Recap: Shamokin Area Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Shamokin Area's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Selinsgrove Seals on Wednesday. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Joey Hile spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

Shamokin Area's record is now 3-6. As for Selinsgrove, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Shamokin Area and Selinsgrove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Indians (ranked 463rd) will meet Hughesville (ranked 187th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Selinsgrove will face off against Blue Mountain at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (418 vs. 135).
