Softball Recap: Live Oak Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Live Oak ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Halle Maxwell was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Maxwell wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Live Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive games.

Live Oak's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Live Oak will face off against Denham Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they will challenge Sacred Heart at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
