Game recap

Alberto Gutierrez ran for six touchdowns to lift Kit Carson (Colo.) to a 78-56 beat over Hanover (Colorado Springs, Colo.).

After taking the lead on a Marc Solis touchdown run in the second quarter, the Wildcats led 48-30 at the half.

Kit Carson saw its 18-point halftime lead fall to 16 entering the fourth.

A 24-point fourth quarter was enough to cement the win for KC, as it pushed the final margin of victory to 22.

The Wildcats' standout player in the win was Gutierrez. The senior running back caught one touchdown.

Henry Mayfield played well for the Hornets. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 16 on the year.

The loss comes after Hanover defeated Primero 69-20 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for Kit Carson, which was coming off a 73-22 defeat at the hands of Eads in its previous game.

Kit Carson (3-2) goes up against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] in a A-6 Southeast (6 Man) game matchup next week, while Hanover (2-3) locks horns with Colorado School for the Deaf & Blind in a A-6 Southwest (6 Man) game.
