Basketball Recap: Josie Myers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crimson Cliffs over Dixie

Crimson Cliffs lost against Dixie two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs fell 49-40 to the Dixie Flyers. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Crimson Cliffs lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Josie Myers, who posted six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Myers has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Zee Brinagh was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Crimson Cliffs' record is now 4-14. As for Dixie, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-9 record.

Crimson Cliffs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crimson Cliffs is facing Hurricane at the right time seeing as Hurricane is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dixie, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Snow Canyon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Dixie likes a good challenge.
