Soccer Game Preview: Columbia vs. Shaker

The Columbia Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Shaker Bison at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Columbia is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Shenendehowa, who was ranked sixth at the time (Columbia was ranked 25th). The Blue Devils and the Plainsmen finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Columbia have been dealt a draw since back in September.

Meanwhile, Shaker unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to Saratoga Springs. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Shaker couldn't quite close it out.

Shaker's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-2. With that draw, Columbia's record moves to 8-3-2.

Columbia skirted past Shaker 2-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
