Basketball Recap: Granger Triumphs

Granger saw some tournament action on Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 41-40 win over the Giddings Buffaloes. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Buffaloes are ranked 1238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Granger's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Giddings, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Granger Lions challenge the Rosebud-Lott Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosebud-Lott's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Granger's offense will have their work cut out for them. Giddings and Columbus will round out the year against one another at at 11:15 a.m. on Monday.
