Softball Game Preview: Greenwood Bulldogs vs. Maumelle Hornets

The Greenwood Bulldogs will take on the Maumelle Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Greenwood 3.9, Maumelle 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Greenwood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Farmington, who was ranked eighth at the time (Greenwood was ranked 13th). The Bulldogs lost 10-1 to the Cardinals on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Maumelle got themselves on the board against Little Rock Christian Academy on Tuesday, but Little Rock Christian Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Hornets have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Greenwood's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 16-6. As for Maumelle, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
