Basketball Game Preview: Doherty Memorial Highlanders vs. Leominster Blue Devils

The Doherty Memorial Highlanders are taking a road trip to face off against the Leominster Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-22, which was the final score in Doherty Memorial's tilt against South on Monday. The Highlanders have struggled against the Colonels recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Leominster was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 43-39 to Shrewsbury. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leominster's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Doherty Memorial, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Doherty Memorial might still be hurting after the 58-33 defeat they got from Leominster when the teams last played back in February of 2016. Can Doherty Memorial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
