Baird was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Jayton Jaybirds, falling 21-12. One positive for the Bears, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Baird's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jayton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baird will welcome Hermleigh at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jayton, they will challenge Hamlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamlin's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Jayton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
