Football Recap: Crescenta Valley Falcons vs. Burbank Bulldogs
Crescenta Valley lost a close one when they played last Friday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by the Burbank Bulldogs 52-7. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.
Dominic Saris threw for 52 yards on perfect 8-for-8 passing.
Xavier Thompson was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Deshawn Laporte, who threw for 136 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 115 yards on only six carries for Burbank. The dominant performance gave Laporte a new career-high in rushing yards.
Crescenta Valley now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Burbank, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crescenta Valley will square off against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Burbank, they will venture away from home to face off against Burroughs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burbank knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Burroughs likes a good challenge.
