Football Game Preview: Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson Mustangs vs. Fairfield/Augusta

The Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson Mustangs will head out on the road to take on Fairfield/Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Fairfield/Augusta likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson made easy work of Killdeer and carried off a 36-15 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trooper Stiles, who picked up 47 receiving yards and two scores. That's the most receiving touchdowns Stiles has posted since back in September of 2024. Kazner Oxarart was another key signal caller, throwing for 99 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Fairfield/Augusta never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 34-0 win over Shelby. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Fairfield/Augusta just coasted through the last quarter.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson better keep an eye on Brock Peace. He was instrumental in Fairfield/Augusta's win, rushing for 77 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and one TD. Peace's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Fairfield/Augusta's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Shelby's QB won't forget Nolan Debruycker anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Fairfield/Augusta received some extra help from Brady Huhn, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's record now sits at 6-0. As for Fairfield/Augusta, their record is now 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson against Fairfield/Augusta when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
