Basketball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Takes a Loss

Cardinal Mooney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the West Branch Warriors 51-24. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while the Warriors are ranked 109th).

Cardinal Mooney's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for West Branch, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Cardinal Mooney will square off against East at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Branch, they will challenge Boardman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Branch's defense has only allowed 27.3 points per game this season, so Boardman's offense will have their work cut out for them.
