Tippecanoe is a perfect 10-0 against West Carrollton since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Red Devils will host the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Tippecanoe will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Tippecanoe's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Piqua, sneaking past 1-0.
Not much got past Cayden McKinney, who gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Piqua off the board. McKinney has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Preston Zumwalt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, West Carrollton got the win against Trotwood-Madison on Tuesday by a conclusive 18-1. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
AJ Allen looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.
At the plate, Ben Martin was a standout: he scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Drew Strauss was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
West Carrollton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trotwood-Madison only posted an OBP of .435.
Tippecanoe pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for West Carrollton, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Everything went Tippecanoe's way against West Carrollton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Tippecanoe made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
