With a playoff win on the line, De Kalb rose to the challenge on Thursday. They skirted past the Troup Tigers 4-3. The Bears are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.
Kaydee Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base.
In other batting news, TT Ingram was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
De Kalb lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.
De Kalb's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Troup, their loss ended an 18-game streak of away wins and brought them to 26-6.
