Baseball Game Preview: Christian Fellowship vs. Sturgeon Bulldogs

Christian Fellowship will venture away from home to face off against the Sturgeon Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Fellowship is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Christian Fellowship let Van-Far stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Thursday but luckily Christian Fellowship prevailed anyway. Christian Fellowship narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Van-Far 8-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Christian Fellowship.

Christian Fellowship let Jack Papineau and Brett Conklin run wild. Papineau got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run, while Conklin got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Papineau has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Noah Prill, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Christian Fellowship always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Sturgeon might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-2 to Brashear, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Christian Fellowship's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Sturgeon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Christian Fellowship might still be hurting after the 13-6 defeat they got from Sturgeon when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Christian Fellowship avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
