Basketball Recap: Kenston Takes a Loss

Kenston played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 73-43 loss at the hands of the Riverside Beavers. The Bombers were down 52-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Kenston still got an impressive performance from Jackson Alotta, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Adam Barr, who posted seven points.

Even though they lost, Kenston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Riverside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyle Harden led the charge by putting up 14 points. Harden is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Josh Rauer also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Kenston has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Riverside, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Kenston has already played their next game, a 55-30 win against South on the 17th. As for Riverside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-44 victory against North on the 17th.
