They put the hurt on the Sidewinders with a sharp 19-4 win. Considering the Panthers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Keadin (CJ) Christian was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Pahranagat Valley let Todd Hansen and Bronson Fiatoa run wild. Hansen went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Fiatoa went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Hansen is becoming a predictor of Pahranagat Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Colin Howard was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Pahranagat Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Pahranagat Valley's record is now 13-7. As for Mountain View Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
Mountain View Christian suffered a grim 20-1 defeat to Pahranagat Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
