Baseball Recap: Chamberlain Takes a Loss

Chamberlain had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Freedom Patriots by a score of 4-3. The Storm were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in February of 2025.

Chamberlain saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Wormack, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

As for Freedom, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Freedom's side, Gaige Spano looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Spano has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Freedom let Logan Handville and Parker Crafton run wild. Handville got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Crafton went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Crafton has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Acord, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Coming up, Chamberlain will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Brandon at 7:00 p.m. As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to take on King at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
