Baseball Preview: Ellsworth Panthers vs. Amery Warriors

Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Ellsworth had to settle for a 9-8 loss against Altoona. Ellsworth has struggled against Altoona recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Amery gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Webster as Amery made off with a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Amery.

Stuart Hellie made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Hellie was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Amery got a massive performance out of William Jensen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Mikey Kelly was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
