Baseball Recap: Montgomery Catholic Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Montgomery Catholic won the last time they faced Jemison and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-3.

Montgomery Catholic let Ethan Levanda and Adrian White run wild. Levanda scored a run while going 2-for-3, while White scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Montgomery Catholic is 2-1 when White posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-10-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jacques Coles, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Montgomery Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Jemison, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Montgomery Catholic will head out on the road to square off against Trinity Presbyterian at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jemison, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Jemison Panthers face off against Demopolis Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
