Softball Game Preview: Sunlake Seahawks vs. River Ridge Royal Knights

Sunlake is 2-8 against River Ridge since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Sunlake will head out to face off against River Ridge at 8:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Sunlake came up short against Wiregrass Ranch and fell 5-2.

Sunlake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Romero, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, River Ridge fell victim to Mitchell and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 15-0. The Royal Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

River Ridge now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Sunlake, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Sunlake couldn't quite get it done against River Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can Sunlake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
