Softball Preview: Davidson Academy Bears vs. Goodpasture Christian Cougars        
        
		
            The Davidson Academy Bears will face off against the Goodpasture Christian Cougars at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their  contests after big wins in their previous games.
Davidson Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mount Juliet Christian Academy  a   24-0 shutout  on Tuesday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  victory against them.
Meanwhile, Goodpasture Christian got the win against Ezell-Harding Christian  on Wednesday by a conclusive  16-8. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Cougars.
 Hope Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing six innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Brown was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Laura Beth Blessing, who  went 3-for-5 with one  home run, four  runs,  and two  stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  RBI (four).  Brooklyn Jones was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.
 Goodpasture Christian  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ezell-Harding Christian only managed seven  hits.
 Davidson Academy pushed their record up to 10-4 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Goodpasture Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
 Davidson Academy skirted past Goodpasture Christian  6-4 in their previous meeting  back in March. Do  the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
