Softball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside fell victim to John Paul II Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 8-0 to the Saints. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Seahawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Southside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily McLean, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. McLean is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played.

Southside has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. John Paul II Catholic pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to an 9-9 draw later that day.
