For the first time this season, Arroyo will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mt. Eden Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Arroyo's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Piedmont 14-0. The Dons haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Ariana Rocha made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Aneesa Aguon was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Tati Rocha was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Arroyo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piedmont only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Mt. Eden made sure to put some runs up on the board against Piedmont on Tuesday. Mt. Eden was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over Piedmont. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Mt. Eden let Jasmine Cruz and Shelby Newcomb run wild. Cruz scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Newcomb went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Newcomb's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Milania Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Mt. Eden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Arroyo's victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both Arroyo and Mt. Eden just can't seem to miss. Arroyo has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Mt. Eden struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
