Orting extends home losing streak to four

Recap: Orting Cardinals vs. Clover Park Timberwolves

If the Orting Cardinals were riding high off their 39-19 takedown of the Foss Falcons last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Orting took a serious blow against Clover Park on Wednesday, falling 57-24. Orting lost against Clover Park in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-22 score last time.

Kamila Salanoa was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 23 rebounds for Clover Park. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Salanoa has scored at least 25% of Clover Park's points. Another player making a difference was Mekaia Williams, who scored 14 points along with five steals.

Orting's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2. As for Clover Park, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Orting won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Charles Wright at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th. As for Clover Park, they will be playing at home against Foss at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Foss comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
