Softball Game Preview: Auburn Eagles vs. Grayson County Blue Devils

Auburn has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Grayson County has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Auburn made easy work of Fort Chiswell and carried off a 17-2 victory.

Ariel Mullins was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Ramrattan, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Grayson County got the win against Galax on Tuesday by a conclusive 18-6.

Auburn's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Grayson County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Auburn got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Grayson County by a conclusive 11-3 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
