Football Game Preview: Sleepy Hollow Horsemen vs. Putnam Valley Tigers

The Sleepy Hollow Horsemen will venture away from home to take on the Putnam Valley Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Putnam Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Sleepy Hollow, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Sleepy Hollow blew past Pearl River, posting a 41-14 victory. The Horsemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Brayden Richardson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 116 yards and two scores on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Bowen, who rushed for 65 yards on only five carries.

Sleepy Hollow didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Richardson, Bowen, Jayden Gonzalez, and Gilbert Onwe picked up one apiece. Richardson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Putnam Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of Bronxville. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Broncos are ranked 82nd).

The win made it two in a row for Sleepy Hollow and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Putnam Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
