Kalkaska extends road losing streak to ten

Recap: Kalkaska Blazers vs. Grayling Vikings

This season hasn't been kind to the Kalkaska Blazers, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-49 walloping at the hands of Grayling on Tuesday. Kalkaska has struggled against Grayling recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Grayling's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Watkins, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 steals. Watkins is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Cali D'Amour was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.

Kalkaska bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.9 points per game. As for Grayling, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Kalkaska will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Harbor Springs at 7:00 p.m. Harbor Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kalkaska in Michigan (Harbor Springs is ranked 112th, while Kalkaska is ranked 575th). As for Grayling, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
