Baseball Recap: Capitol Hill Comes Up Short

Capitol Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 6-1 to the Putnam City West Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-0 loss on Friday.

Capitol Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marvin Soza, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Capitol Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Putnam City West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Capitol Hill and Putnam City West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Redwolves will face off against Norman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (341 vs. 119). Meanwhile, Putnam City West (ranked 183rd) will meet Yukon (ranked sixth) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
