Volleyball Recap: Andover Golden Warriors vs. Winchester Red & Black

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Andover can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Winchester Red & Black on Friday. The Golden Warriors have struggled against the Red & Black recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Andover was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Winchester work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 23-25, 25-22.

Kate Hillson and Jessie Wang certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hillson had 12 digs, while Wang had 11 digs and ten kills. Wang is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least six every time she's taken the court this season.

Andover's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for Winchester, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Andover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winchester, they are taking a road trip to take on Attleboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winchester is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
