Volleyball Recap: Glynn Academy Takes a Loss

Glynn Academy was the 2-1 winner over Lakeside when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Terrors fell 2-0 to the Panthers on Saturday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15.

Izzy Counsil paced Glynn Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Counsil got some help from Laura Beth (Elby) Baldridge and her ten assists. Baldridge also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Natalie Koncul, each putting up two.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakeside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Miller, who had 12 assists and three digs. Miller is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Robin Im, who had nine digs and two assists.

Glynn Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 27-15. As for Lakeside, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 40-6.

Glynn Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Jackson County on the 15th. As for Lakeside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Effingham County on the 11th.
