The South Point Pointers will face off against the Ironton Fighting Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
South Point lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rock Hill, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Pointers put the hurt on the Redmen with a sharp 11-5 win on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Pointers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Brayden Hanshaw made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for South Point: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kolton Layman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Layne, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Ironton entered their tilt with Dawson-Bryant on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Hornets 15-1.
Carson Freeman was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Tyler Roach was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Ironton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Ironton pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for South Point, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
