Football Recap: Ste. Genevieve Starts off Right with Win over St. Vincent

Ste. Genevieve gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past the St. Vincent Indians with points to spare, taking the game 49-35. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 53-0 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Luke Ferranto was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 100 yards. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. 100 of Ferranto's passing yards were hauled in by Wyatt Grein.

Coming up, Ste. Genevieve will venture away from home to square off against University City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Vincent, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Valle Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
