The Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators will take on the Portsmouth Christian Patriots in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portsmouth Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Greenbrier Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

Greenbrier Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Tidewater Academy 36-22.

Greenbrier Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Katelyn Balka out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. That's the most points Balka has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Baleigh Kelihee, who posted seven points and five steals.

Greenbrier Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Portsmouth Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a blow against Hampton Christian Academy, falling 66-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since February 6th.

Portsmouth Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Greenbrier Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Portsmouth Christian in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory.
