Baseball Game Preview: Oldenburg Academy Twisters vs. Greensburg Pirates

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters are taking a road trip to square off against the Greensburg Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Oldenburg Academy couldn't beat North Decatur on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Twisters took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. That's two games in a row now that the Twisters have lost by exactly five runs.

Adam Weber made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Greensburg entered their contest against Batesville on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pirates fell 6-3 to the Bulldogs.

Caleb Greiwe was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Oldenburg Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Greensburg, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.

Oldenburg Academy might still be hurting after the 11-3 loss they got from Greensburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Twisters avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
