Preview: Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs vs. Ellsworth Lancers
Grand Traverse Academy is 6-1 against Ellsworth since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Ellsworth Lancers at 8:00 p.m. Grand Traverse Academy will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
A well-balanced attack led Grand Traverse Academy over Walkerville in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Grand Traverse Academy blew Walkerville out of the water with a 52-17 final score. The victory was just what Grand Traverse Academy needed coming off of a 62-18 loss in their prior matchup.
Megan Pavwoski had an outrageously good game as she scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Bell, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Ellsworth was the victim of a tough 53-32 defeat at the hands of Mancelona on Tuesday.
Grand Traverse Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Ellsworth, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
Everything went Grand Traverse Academy's way against Ellsworth in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as Grand Traverse Academy made off with a 54-34 victory.
