Baseball Game Preview: Montgomery County Indians vs. Rowan County Vikings

The Montgomery County Indians will square off against the Rowan County Vikings at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Rowan County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Montgomery County, who comes in off a win.

While Montgomery County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Cooper by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday.

Cooper's batters probably weren't too happy with Jordan Howard, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up two walks). Those walks were Howard's first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Robby Howard, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Copher, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Rowan County's offense. They lost 7-0 to Boyd County on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Vikings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Rowan County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Montgomery County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
