Baseball Recap: Bernalillo Takes a Loss

Valley hit Bernalillo with a nine-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

Isaac Acosta was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ulisses Castro, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs.

Bernalillo's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Valley, the win got them back to even at 13-13.

As of now, neither Bernalillo nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
