Basketball Recap: Unity Comes Up Short

Unity was the 53-39 winner over Grantsburg when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Unity Eagles took a 69-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grantsburg Pirates.

Unity's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Grantsburg, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Unity and Shell Lake will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Unity knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Shell Lake likes a good challenge. As for Grantsburg, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bayfield at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th.
