Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jess Marcotte and Kate Hodes

While it was all tied up 16-16 at halftime, Providence Classical Christian Academy was not quite Aurora Christian Academy's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 33-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aurora Christian Academy Arrows. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Arrows apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Providence Classical Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kate Hodes, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds, and Jess Marcotte, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. CJ Case also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Aurora Christian Academy was led to victory by Aleah Heredia and Addy Lewis. Heredia almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine steals, while Lewis posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points gave Heredia a new career-high.

Providence Classical Christian Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13. As for Aurora Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Providence Classical Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-23 victory against Rivers of Life Christian on the 14th.
