Softball Recap: Africentric Early College Gets the Win

Africentric Early College took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Independence, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Nubians had just enough and edged out the 76ers 21-20. This was payback for the Nubians, who suffered a 19-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Neveah White was a standout: she scored five runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kayla Elder, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and four RBI.

Africentric Early College's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Independence, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
