Baseball Recap: Minneapolis South's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Minneapolis South came into Thursday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Roosevelt Teddies with a sharp 9-1 victory on Thursday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Oliver Lindstrom made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Lindstrom was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Jensen, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Alex Menth also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Minneapolis South's record now sits at 5-6. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Minneapolis South will square off against Delano at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Delano will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Minneapolis South surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roosevelt, they will head out on the road to take on Minneapolis Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
