Mullen proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes 2-1. For the Broncos, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Coyotes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Mullen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Brynne McCully paced Mullen's offense, picking up eight kills. McCully got some help from Kalli Licking and her 18 assists. Ella Rice controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Mullen's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Anselmo-Merna, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Mullen didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against South Loup on the 2nd. Anselmo-Merna has also already played their next contest (against Ansley/Litchfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
