Soccer Game Preview: Fountain-Fort Carson vs. Doherty

Fountain-Fort Carson is 1-9 against Doherty since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Fountain-Fort Carson will be strutting in after a win while Doherty will be coming in after a defeat.

Fountain-Fort Carson will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Vista Ridge, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Trojans had just enough and edged out Wolves 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Fountain-Fort Carson were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Doherty's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Pueblo West by a score of 3-2.

MICHAEL BERRY and DREW MEDINA scored both of Doherty's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Fountain-Fort Carson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three matchups. As for Doherty, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Fountain-Fort Carson beat Doherty by a goal when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
