Basketball Recap: South Spencer Comes Up Short

South Spencer was the 55-37 winner over Evansville Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the South Spencer Rebels and the Evansville Christian Eagles didn't end well, with the South Spencer Rebels falling 51-36. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Eagles are ranked 112th).

Bella Hall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Evansville Christian, going 8 of 13 on her way to 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Hall is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallie Higgs, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

South Spencer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Evansville Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

South Spencer has already played their next contest (against Lighthouse Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Evansville Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-43 victory against Evansville Bosse on the 25th.
