Softball Recap: Northern Durham Comes Up Short

Northern Durham came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Jordan Falcons, falling 16-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 two weeks ago.

AnnaClaire Spell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Roxy Nelson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Northern Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Jordan, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

Northern Durham has already played their next contest, a 19-9 victory against Riverside-Durham on the 1st. As for Jordan, they will challenge Hillside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.81 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
