Basketball Recap: West Brunswick Comes Up Short

West Brunswick fought the good fight in their overtime contest against North Myrtle Beach on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 53-46 to the Chiefs. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Chiefs: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, West Brunswick still got an impressive performance from Kveon Griffin, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Jerrison Dixon, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

North Myrtle Beach found their leader in freshman Caden Bass, who posted 20 points and five assists. Mason Walker was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

West Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, West Brunswick will be playing in front of their home fans against South Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Myrtle Beach, they have already played their next game, a 63-32 win against Hannah-Pamplico on the 22nd.
